The Dallas Zoo is located on 95 acres of land just off I-35E at the Marsalis Avenue exit. There are several specialized exhibits including the new 2-acre Lacerte Family Children's Zoo with wallabies, naked mole-rats and mongooses; ExxonMobil Endangered Tiger Habitat; and the award-winning 25-acre Wilds of Africa. The Zoo also offers an extensive education program for kids, summer camps, and travel/safari programs with trips to several different cultures each year.

Originally built for the 1936 Texas Centennial Celebration, this Art Deco facility contains more than 5,000 aquatic animals, including species native to Texas. The Aquarium is a leader in breeding of several naturally extinct fish and reptile species and features the 10,500 gallon Amazon Flooded Forest.
